Care Guide
Our pieces are crafted from natural wood, fiber, and organic materials. We advise keeping all our pieces indoors or in sheltered outdoor areas, away from elements such as rain, wind, and direct sunlight.
RATTAN
To clean your rattan piece, we recommend using a warm, slightly damp cloth with no chemicals. Regular dusting and vacuuming will ensure the longevity of your rattan piece. Linseed oil or a high-quality beeswax can also be applied lightly to polish and nourish the rattan. If your rattan piece gets wet, allow it to dry outside, out of direct sunlight.
TEAK AND SUAR WOOD
Our wooden pieces are handcrafted by artisans, each with its unique raw wood grains, textures, surfaces, colors, and imperfections, enhancing the authentic beauty of each piece.
Teak wood contains natural oils that, over time, may patinate to a light gray; slight cracks may also appear, adding to the wood's heritage and style. If you prefer the warmer color of teak wood, we recommend using a teak coating instead of teak oil, which can maintain the original color and slow down the fading process.
To clean your piece, we recommend using a warm, damp cloth without chemicals. High-quality beeswax can also be lightly applied to polish and nourish the wood to prevent drying out.
NATURAL COTTON PLAID
Hand wash preferably, or machine wash on a cold delicate cycle with similar colors. Dry away from direct sunlight (do not tumble dry).
CERAMIC
Carefully handcrafted by local artisans in Bali using traditional techniques.
Each piece is subtly different, and colors may slightly vary due to the handmade nature of the product. These variations contribute to the uniqueness of your item.
To prolong the longevity of the glaze of your item, we recommend hand washing only. Please refrain from using in the microwave or oven.
CACTUS SILK CUSHION COVER
The Cactus Silk used to make our amazing Cactus Silk Cushion covers is all handmade by artisans in Morocco. The wonderful Cactus Silk fabric is also known as Sabra Silk. It's loomed by hand from the fibers of the Agave Cati or Saharan Aloe Vera plant, which is found in the Sahara Desert and is used to create a textile that's distinctively strong yet soft to touch. Then, they are dyed with vegetable dyes, hand-embroidered, and often left to dry in the Moroccan sunshine for a few weeks.
To care for your Cactus Silk Cushions and rugs, avoid using water as this may cause the vegetable dyes to run and discolor, which may change the look of your cushion. However, if you don't mind if your cactus silk item changes its look or color, then feel free to wash it. Otherwise, it is recommended to dry clean these lovely pieces. Also, please advise your dry cleaner that they are dyed with natural, non-chemically treated vegetable dyes to ensure the appropriate care is applied.
Some would also suggest using canvas sprays as used for shoes to repel liquids. But a test area on the inside would be advised to ensure that the fabric is suitable to take the spray.
